Chicago-based M.R. Lee Building Materials, Inc. was founded by Mel Lee, and thrived under his direction and attention to safety for more than 20 years. Since the company mainly works on commercial high-rises, Lee was adamant that his team be sure they could depend on two things - their safety equipment and their co-workers. That commitment to safety served M.R. Lee Building Materials, Inc. well when the company joined the GMS family in 2016, as GMS’s safety standards are second to none.

M.R. Lee Building Materials continues to provide attentive building materials service to Chicago and surrounding areas, from 90-story high-rises to house additions, and everything in between.

Our experienced team serves residential and commercial construction customers from our centrally located building supply yard in Alsip, IL. Our experienced team is knowledgeable and customer-oriented. Our commitment to you extends through a range of services, including:
